1965 the young master followed an invitation of the U.S.-Army member and martial art expert Dan Ivan who was that time stationed in Japan to the USA. Sensei Demura became an American citizen in the meantime.
The Dojo of Sensei Demuras is one of the Budo centers of America and you can say also in the world. Many well-known people are or were his students, for example Steven Segal, Sho Kusugi or the bad guys from the movies Karate Kid and Rising Sun. Besides his consulting function he worked in many films as stunt-man for example Mr. Miyagi alias Pat Morita in Karate Kid. With the supporting part as a Yakuza gangster in the movie Rising Sun beside Sean Connary he was getting a little closer to his life dream to be an actor.
